PHFC Thrift Store

Sometimes life doesn’t turn out as we planned. Unexpected job loss or medical debt and other hardships can easily lead to homelessness. Our thrift store in Talladega often helps local community members who have been displaced due to house fire or natural disaster by gifting furniture and clothing.

Sunrise Center

The Sunrise Center Homeless Day Shelter is open Monday – Friday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. A variety of services are available focusing on three primary areas: personal hygiene, job readiness, and food security. Secure shower and laundry facilities enable homeless individuals to take care of basic personal hygiene with additional clothing being provided as needed. A computer lab is available to assist in locating and applying for jobs as well as on-site resume prep assistance. The shelter offers food and kitchen facilities to prepare food as well as portable bags of food to meet after-hours needs.

Sheffield, AL, 35660

Our Thrift Store serves both PHFC residents and the local community. Often the Thrift Store is a new resident’s first job after they arrive on campus providing income and job skills training.

Donations to the thrift store provide a resource for residents to obtain at no cost what they need upon arrival. Donations can be dropped off during regular store hours. Donation pick up within a 50 mile radius of Talladega can be scheduled by calling 256-213-0002.
